An anthology exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Takis (1925–2019) and the 35th anniversary of the gallery. Curated by Alfred Pacquement, the event retraces the visionary work of this sculptor of magnetic fields and the invisible. From his early wrought-iron pieces (inspired by Giacometti and archaic Greece) to the famous vibrating Signals, via the Telesculptures and musical works, the exhibition highlights the unique fusion Takis achieved between art, science, and cosmic poetry. A fascinating immersion into a universe where objects levitate and sounds from the beyond resonate.

Context and more

The exhibition celebrates 45 years of collaboration between Renos Xippas (the artist’s former studio director) and Takis.

Not to miss: a rare Telesculpture Chess Game (1964) paying homage to Marcel Duchamp, and a major group of historic metal signals.

Takis is known for his monumental installations such as the pool at La Défense, as well as his performances, notably the man suspended in space in 1960.
