The exhibition “Madame de Sévigné — Parisian Letters” is at the Carnavalet Museum from April 15 to August 23, 2026 (Paris 3rd), centered on the Marquise de Sévigné for the 400th anniversary of her birth.

An exhibition to immerse yourself in 17th-century Paris through the life and correspondence of Madame de Sévigné, a major figure in French literature.

Designed with a scientific committee, the exhibition brings together more than 200 works (paintings, objects, drawings…) from Carnavalet’s collections and public/private loans.

The tour highlights her Parisian roots (Marais) and her correspondence – especially letters to her daughter – as key documents on the customs, ideas, and events of the time.
