Manga Wave and Japanese Treasures

Dive into “Manga. An Art Revolution!”, a three-floor immersive experience tracing manga’s origins—from illustrated satire and painted scrolls to kamishibai, and on to the masters of the 20th and 21st centuries and their influence on fashion, animation, and pop culture, with a special nod to Tezuka, Astro Boy, and Hokusai’s Great Wave.

The exhibition brings together original panels, historic magazines, and masterpieces from the Guimet’s collections, revealing the graphic codes (framing, sound effects, speed lines) and the global rise of an art form that has become a phenomenon in France.

Dates and Hours

1. November 19, 2025 – March 9, 2026, at MNAAG – Guimet, 6 Place d’Iéna, Paris 16th.
2. Open daily except Tuesdays, 10am–6pm; last entry at 5:30pm.

Tickets and Free Admission

1. One ticket grants access to permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, and Hôtel d’Heidelbach.
2. Free admission: EU under 26, job seekers, social welfare recipients, PSH + companion; free for all on the first Sunday of each month.
3. Plan Vigipirate: no fast-track entry, but optimized security checks and crowd flow at the entrance.

2. Closed December 25 and January 1.

Visitor Tips
